Lide Industries wants to grow its longstanding reputation for building and delivering the most reliable and high quality custom storage tanks in Texas, as well as maintaining the highest level of service to their customers. When Linda Hansen, DOT Compliance and Safety Director, sends a driver on the road, two things are at the forefront of her mind: safety and service.
Challenges:
Lide identified several challenges that needed answers to help them reach their goals:
- Drivers needed to follow regulations from the U.S. Department of Transportation which mandates the number of hours they may operate their trucks. Supervisors needed a better way to audit and report those hours.
- Maintenance of their fleet needed to be tracked and managed in a more reliable manner.
- They needed more insight into driving behavior like speeding, especially with frequently oversized loads that drive across the country.
- There was no easy way to provide routes for their drivers or identify deviations from those routes.
- Customers demanded accurate arrival times and updates when plans changed.
