GPS Vehicle Tracking FAQs
General Questions
How does the SageQuest system work?
Our system, Mobile Control, collects GPS location and other data using a small hardware device installed in your commercial vehicles. The information is sent frequently over a secure cellular data network to our network operations center, where the data is processed and sent over the Internet to your online Mobile Control account. From there, you may view your vehicles’ location, set-up and receive alerts on activities, build reports on historical activity, and much more.

If you feel like all GPS vehicle tracking providers are all the same, you haven’t worked with SageQuest. We’ll happily put you in touch with customers operating businesses like yours and have them explain why they chose SageQuest and what the difference means for them.
How much does your system cost?
Our competitive pricing is based on the overall size of your fleet along with other factors. Our system uses real-time GPS tracking, which includes a price for the hardware device and installation, along with a monthly monitoring fee per vehicle. Our pricing can be bundled in ways to suit your needs, and we offer both purchase and lease options for our hardware device. A SageQuest representative can discuss all options available and provide a complete quote along with a ROI calculation for your fleet.
What kind of return on investment can I expect?
There are many ways that our customers realize return on their investment. While each one of our clients has a unique business, the most common feedback that we receive is that the product helped reduce expenses (fuel & payroll) and increase productivity (more stops per day, more billable time). Our product has an immediate impact on organizations and typically provides a ROI within a 6-month time period. When comparing solutions, make sure that you have an apples-to-apples comparison for both price and ROI, with the ROI calculation based on conservative factors relevant to your business.

Hardware & Installation
Can I use my previous GPS tracking provider’s hardware devices?
GPS vehicle tracking devices usually only work with a single solution; in some cases, we have the ability to reprogram the devices and activate them onto the SageQuest system. For more information and definitive answers, please contact us at 888.837.7243
Where is your hardware device installed inside my vehicles?
The device is installed in a secure location in the vehicle, usually underneath the dash board or behind an access panel in the vehicle. The exact location of the hardware will vary depending on your vehicles’ year, make and model.
Is there a visible antenna?
The SageQuest device does not require an external antenna on the vehicle. There will be a small GPS receiver usually placed on the dashboard of the vehicle. This provides the best coverage and reception for the device. In some cases the antenna can be imbedded underneath the dashboard.
What is the approximate size of your hardware device?
The GPS vehicle tracking device is approximately 5” (length) x 4” (width) x 1.5” (tall)
Implementation
How do I roll out the system to my staff?
We’ve developed a step-by-step best practice for implementing our GPS vehicle tracking system with new customers. We will work with you to assist with employee introduction to our system, hardware device installation, all user training, and all your on-going service and support needs.
How quickly can I get up and running once I make a decision?
After receiving all of the necessary paperwork, the turn around time is approximately 2 to 3 weeks. We typically will come to you and perform the installations on-site. This takes about 45 minutes per vehicle and we are flexible with installation scheduling. Once installation is complete, we schedule a training session for your users, after which you have complete access to your account.
